There’s something really special about pulling a crumble out of the oven–the smell, the bubbling, deliciously gooey goodness … that golden topping. It’s pure comfort food. The kind that warms you up from the inside out–especially on a chilly winter day like this one.

But here’s the thing: I recently started planning a winter cooking demo… and there’s no oven. So I got a little creative and ta-da … this no-oven crumble recipe was born!

It turns out you can get all the cosy crumble vibes without the baking. Apples and pears are my go-to in the colder months, but this is super adaptable. Think juicy berries or stone fruits when summer rolls around.

And let’s talk about peeling the fruit—personally, I say skip it. The skin is full of fibre, vitamins, and antioxidants, and honestly that’s better in your belly than in the compost bin!

Seared Duck w Pomegranate Glazed Figs

The richness of the duck pairs so well with the sticky sweetness of the caramelised fig, salty creaminess of the Persian feta, and the bright lively green of the watercress and mint.

Fennel & Orange Prawn Cocktail

Have prawn cocktails ever gone out of fashion? I love the traditional version with the creamy sauce, but sometimes I just want something a little lighter with the fresh flavours of now.
